What is the difference between Swedish massage and Deep Tissue massage?

A Swedish massage is a more relaxation orientated massage. The therapist will use long, flowing strokes applied to all the general areas of the body. After this massage you should be left feeling relaxed and comfortable, making this massage technique one of the most popular in spas.

A Deep tissue massage is quite different; therapists will go beyond the superficial layers of skin and muscle, to penetrate underlying muscle tissue. This technique is often used by Physiotherapists for sports injuries and has been considered by many as an extremely intense experience.
